Rays to Sign Eric Otañez

Per Baseball America:

Otañez, a 16-year-old righthanded hitter out of La Academia, was one of the top Dominican catching prospects available among this year’s July 2-eligible players. He is 6-foot-2, 195 pounds and has a strong arm.

Earlier today, I covered the Rays previous July 2 signings. With any luck, Otañez will join a few of them on a future Rays team.
